RCMS is a not-for-profit health center providing a full range of healthcare services at its three clinics located in Gualala and Point Arena. Services are designed to meet identified needs of the community services, are integrated with other existing healthcare services and systems, and are evaluated on a regular basis to assure that community health needs are being met.
As a not-for-profit corporation receiving public funds, RCMS provides services to qualifed individuals on a sliding fee scale, as well as to patients with MediCal and Medicare coverage, private insurance and self pay status.
RCMS is a rural health center with a federal charter requiring us to treat every patient, regardless of his or her ability to pay. That's our mission and one we willingly accept. But it is also costly. While government grants, reimbursements from Medicare, MediCal, and private insurance help defray some of our costs, we must rely on financial contributions from individuals and organizations to run our operations and expand programs.
At Redwood Coast Medical Services (RCMS), our mission is to provide quality, family-oriented, community based, primary medical care including a broad range of preventive health services, to residents and visitors within the coastal area of Southern Mendocino and Northern Sonoma Counties.
Healthcare services include:
Pediatric and adult medical care, including diagnosis, treatment and prevention
Comprehensive history and physical examination
Management of chronic diseases, such as asthma, arthritis, etc.
Prenatal care
Women's health issues
Immunizations, HIV testing
Mental health and counseling services for acute and chronic issues
Nutrition, health education classes
Specialist consultations for cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry and ophthalmology
X-ray
Bone density testing
Geriatric care
Urgent care including minor surgery and procedures (at Gualala Clinic only)

In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
