At Vista Community Clinic (VCC), we're dedicated to embodying what it means to be a community clinic: offering every single person the opportunity to be healthy. Community clinics have become known for pioneering some of the most innovative models of primary care delivery. This is because community clinics are able to respond quickly and efficiently to immediate and emerging public health issues since we're an integral part of the communities we serve. As such, VCC is working hard to educate our community about what it means to be a 'community clinic' in today's world - not the long lines and lower quality of the past, but rather a fully comprehensive health care organization that offers excellent and innovative health services to all.

Vista Community Clinic is a Federally Qualified Healthcare facility proving a wide array of medical services, dental services, and health education and community health programs, in Vista and Oceanside, California. We provide comprehensive healthcare services to anyone in San Diego County. We also maintain a strong quality assurance program and, as a nonprofit organization, are governed by a Board of Directors.
Is VCC free or is it a walk-in clinic?
A: We operate like any other medical or dental medical group, and ask that patients make appointments and pay utilizing insurance or a sliding fee scale. As such, we are not an emergency room, walk-in or free clinic. We are, however, a non-profit organization that's committed to taking care of our community's medical and dental needs.
Since this is a sliding fee scale clinic, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Vista Community Clinic website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care.
Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023
Persons In Family Household | Poverty Guideline Salary per year |
---|
1 | $14,580 |
2 | $19,720 |
3 | $24,860 |
4 | $30,000 |
5 | $35,140 |
6 | $40,280 |
7 | $45,420 |
8 | $50,560 |
For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
