General Clinic Sessions:
Tuesday: 12:30 to 7:00 pm 'Adult patients only
Wednesday Pediatrics: 1:00 to 3:00 pm 'for children through age 16
Saturday: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
Services We Provide
Diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions
School, camp, sports and pre-employment physical exams. These must be scheduled in advance with the clinic director. We will not do DMV licenses, or physicals that require examination outside of the range of clinic services.
Evaluation of minor injuries
Essential medications will be provided
Laboratory tests ordered by AmeriCares physicians
Referrals to specialists or specialty clinics when indicated (sometimes provider will charge for service)
X-ray and diagnostic services as indicated and as available
Immunizations for school aged children. Note: All children must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian with identification and notarized documents when appropriate. Immunization records must accompany children.
Testing/procedures available at the clinic include: Tb skin testing, urine test, pregnancy test, hemoglobin, glucose, stool for occult blood, breathing treatment for asthma, and electrocardiograms.
AmeriCares Free Clinics are open to those who are uninsured and who are without the financial resources to afford medical care.
To be eligible you must:
Have no public or private health insurance
Meet income guidelines - less than 200% FPL (see below)
Be a resident of the area (for a list of eligible towns click here)
Provide photo identification
Provide income verification upon request
Be 18 years or older for the Danbury and Bridgeport clinics
Be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the Norwalk clinic if you are under 18 years of age

In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
