General Clinic Sessions:
Monday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Tuesday: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Wednesday: 11:30 am to 7:00 pm
Saturday: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
Services We Provide
(must be 18 years of age or older)
Diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions
Pre-employment physical exams must be SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE and approved by the clinic director
Evaluation of minor injuries
Essential medications
Laboratory tests ordered by AmeriCares staff
Referrals to specialists or specialty clinics when indicated (sometimes provider will charge for service)
X-ray and diagnostic services as indicated and as available
Some on-site testing/procedures are available at the clinic
Services We Cannot Provide
Emergency care
Nonessential medications, diagnostic and laboratory testing and referrals
Physical exams for CDL license or physicals that require examination outside of the range of clinic services
Mental Health/Psychiatric or substance abuse treatment, including medications
Pain medications including narcotics, tranquilizers, and sleeping aids are not prescribed or stocked by the clinic
Obstetrical and gynecological care, including medical care during pregnancy
Care related to conditions associated with workman's compensation, disability cases, second opinions or ongoing or potential litigation
Care for communicable disease including tuberculosis, venereal diseases, and HIV/AIDS
Not all recommended screening procedures are available
Care for acute or chronic/unstable illness and ongoing specialty care

AmeriCares Free Clinics are open to those who are uninsured and who are without the financial resources to afford medical care.
To be eligible you must:
Have no public or private health insurance
Meet income guidelines - less than 200% FPL (see below)
Be a resident of the area (for a list of eligible towns click here)
Provide photo identification
Provide income verification upon request
Be 18 years or older for the Danbury and Bridgeport clinics
Be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the Norwalk clinic if you are under 18 years of age

In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
