FCHC uses a sliding fee scale (SFS) based on federal poverty limits (FPL) to determine the amount of financial responsibility each patient carries regarding their health care services. Patients who are at or below 100% of FPL have their health care needs provided by FCHC at a minimal charge. In addition, FCHC's commitment to ensuring a continuum of care is evidenced by our policy to pay for an initial office visit to specialists for those with no financial means. As depicted in our 2008 UDS Report submitted in February 2009, FCHC provided health care to nearly 40,000 patients
