Sliding Scale fees are variable prices for products, services, or taxes based on a customer's ability to pay. Such fees are thereby reduced for those who have lower incomes, or alternatively, less money to spare after their personal expenses, regardless of income.
Expert Medical Care

PrairieStar's medical department is comprised of professional, caring physicians, physician assistants, APRNs and  nursing staff. Our family physicians and providers are focused on preventive medicine as well as care for chronic health issues. We pride ourselves on taking expert care of our patients and all medical amenities. If medical assistance is needed after hours, patients should call the office number (620-663-8484) and an operator will connect you with our on call provider.

Physical Examination:
Physical examinations are an important part of preventive health care and should be scheduled every six months to a year. Physicals are comprehensive medical examinations and include a review of your medical history. Comprehensive medical exams are benchmarks to help prevent future problems and assist you, our patient, in taking an active role in your health care. During this visit you are encouraged to ask your provider about health concerns you have and receive valuable information to assist you in making informed decisions. Sports physicals, elective physicals, work physicals - any physicals are always provided by appointment.
 
Minor Illness Care:
Feeling slightly ill lately? Schedule a "next available" same day appointment with us. Illnesses can spring up anytime of the year. Allergies? Flu? Our medical laboratory will help our providers diagnose your problem so you can start feeling better. Prescriptions, as needed, will help you get back on your feet in no time so you can start enjoying life again.
 
Gynecology:
Our providers are available for consultation by appointment. We offer all women's health services: well woman exams, examination and prescription for contraceptives, pap smear, pelvic exams, breast exams, mammograms and STD treatment.
 
Laboratory Services:
Our medical lab enables us to provide some diagnoses rapidly. Some results are available at the time of your visit because our lab performs many of our medical tests on site. We also offer industrial services such as drug urinalysis, substance abuse screening, breath alcohol testing, pulmonary function testing and of course employment physicals.
Chronic Disease Management:
PrairieStar providers can diagnose, treat and manage chronic diseases. Effective chronic disease management is accomplished by regularly consulting with a medical team that has the ability to test and treat. Please contact us for more information about these services.
 
Eye Exams:
Routine eye exams are essential to ensure your eyes are developing correctly and to allow for recalibration of prescription lenses as needed. We examine your visual acuity, pupil function, ocular motility, and visual field testing. Are you having trouble seeing, or do you suffer from double-vision? There are a variety of eye ailments that can affect your vision. Schedule an appointment to make your vision as sharp as possible. There are some qualifying questions to be eligible for this service.
 
Educational Services:
Patient education is very important to us here at PrairieStar. We offer a variety of classes and public education seminars on common health problems and specialized topics. Look for our classroom announcements. Our nursing staff is available to work with you to answer your questions about your health care or concerns. Our care coordinator is able to assist you in finding community resources to help meet your needs.
 
Selected Mental Health Services:
PrairieStar has access to Horizons Mental Health Center services through a counselor to assist you on site for evaluations concerning depression, ADHD/ADD as well as other mental health issues that arise.
