The Adult Preventive Health Clinic provides services to help prevent and treat specific health issues.

Women's Preventive Health
The North Carolina Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) is available to women ages 40-64 who are not insured and meet financial eligibility guidelines. This service provides cervical and breast cancer screening that includes the following:
A screening physical examination
Pap smear testing
Clinical breast exam with instruction in self breast examination
Women who qualify will also be scheduled for a mammogram on the Catawba Valley Medical Center Mobile Truck.
STDs: Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Our appointment scheduling process has changed due to recent staffing changes. If you feel you are having symptoms of an STD infection, please inform the eligibility staff so that they can get you scheduled within 24 hours. If they are unable to meet your need immediately, they will refer you to another appropriate provider.
If you are requesting a routine screening appointment and have no symptoms, they will give you a first available appointment.
Please call and cancel if you are unable to keep an appointment.
Catawba County Public Health's STD Clinic provides confidential testing, diagnosis, treatment and counseling for common sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. Most services are available at no charge.
Services are available to anyone, regardless of the county you live in.
The Women's Preventive Health Clinic provides a variety of confidential health and education services to women from puberty to menopause.
Services are available to anyone who qualifies financially, regardless of the county you live in.
Services include the following:
Birth control
Emergency contraception
STD testing and information
Breast health services and education
Cervical cancer screening and testing (pap smears & colonoscopy)
Spanish interpreter available by appointment

At Catawba Family Dentistry, prevention of dental disease is their number one goal. They provide complete examinations and a wide range of treatment and educational services for children ages 1-21 with Medicaid and NC HealthChoice dental insurance. Also provide services to pregnant women with Medicaid coverage.

In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
