Community Health
Neighborhood Health Center Plainfield is a Community Health Center.
Ms. Emma Jules, a Pediatric Nurse at the Neighborhood Health Center in Plainfield, exhibited the competence, compassion, and care that every parent would love to receive when they need professional medical help for their children. The father had recently gained full custody of his four children, moved from out of state to Plainfield, NJ and learned that two of his elementary school aged daughters each lacked two vaccines required to enroll in the Plainfield Public School District. Due to having a Social Security Number as well as an a Work Permit, he was not eligible to receive the shots for free. He also did not have the $274.00 fee Neighborhood Health Center required in order for his daughters to receive the shots as like many parents, he needed that money to survive. Ms. Jules knowledge of resources for parents caught in such a bind during this horrible pandemic, high unemployment crisis, and societal nightmare, and the kind manner with which she shared them, caused both this desperate father and I to repeatedly thank Ms. Jules as we both repeatedly blinked to not cry with relief in front of his young daughters. Ms. Jules patiently ensured that the father had the correct information and then called ahead to the two facilities to alert them that he was on his way to them. Despite the innumerable stressors, of a severity I can only imagine, Ms. Jules, a Front Line Worker, did not hesitate nor falter in her professional and excellent service to this family, the Emerson Plainfield Public Elementary School and therefore the City of Plainfield. Within days, I am happy to say, this father's daughters were enrolled in our school and are receiving the best NJ education we are able to give, all things considered. Thank you again, Ms. Jules, for your heart, competent care and great patience! I hope more nurses like you are hired by the Plainfield, NJ Neighborhood Health Clinic!
