Services
Cancer Services Program of Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties
Free cancer screenings for people who have no insurance or are under-insured. Mammograms, Clinical Breast Exams, and Pelvic Exams are available for women age 40 and over and Colorectal Cancer Screening is available for Men and Women age 50 and over. The Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program can be used to pay for medical costs for those diagnosed with breast, cervical, colorectal, or prostate cancers for those that qualify.
Child Find
Is a partnership between the Early Intervention Program (EIP) and local physicians that establishes a vital link between doctor's offices and available county services and helps identify infants and toddlers up to pre-school age at risk for a developmental delay.
Clinics
The Allegany County Department of Health sponsors clinics by appointment in Alfred, Belmont, and Wellsville. To view the clinic schedule go to www.alleganycountydepartmentofhealth.com and click on Health Department, then click on Clinic Schedule. Appointments can be obtained for adults and children and a sliding fee scale is available. New York State Computerized records (NYSIIS) are kept. The Pap Clinic for women 40-64 includes clinical breast exams, instruction on breast self-exam, pap smears, and pelvic exams.
Women Infants and Children (WIC)
A supplemental nutrition program which provides nutritious foods, referrals to helping agencies, and health education to women, who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum, infants and children up to age five.
Family Planning Services
Complete Physical exams and instruction on birth control methods are available. Nutritional counseling, emergency contraception, and referral to private physicians are provided. HIV and STD counseling, testing, and treatment are confidential.
Immunization Services
Allegany County sponsors Immunization Clinics for adults and children. Most services are free to those who qualify and a sliding fee scale is provided for others.

In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
