This organization's mission is to "provide pathways to self-sufficiency through active intervention in poverty and homelessness." They've been mitigating the effects of homelessness, poverty and addictions in the Portland metropolitan area for the last 30 years. The company has developed a profoundly effective linked network of housing and support services to help homeless and low-income individuals transition into the social and economic mainstream. This continuum of care is made up of over 1,400 units of low-income and supportive housing, behavioral and complementary healthcare, primary healthcare, drug and alcohol treatment and recovery programs, vocational training and employment placement services. This is a nationally recognized model that provides support, stability and, above all, options to a traditionally disenfranchised and at-risk segment of their community.
