Public health services for the City of Paris and Lamar County are provided by this department. Funding is derived from the City of Paris and Lamar County as well as through grants from the Texas Department of State Health Services. As a public health department most services are primarily preventive medical treatment. Services provided include pre-natal care, family planning, immunizations, care of non-emergency medical problems, screening and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, Women, Infant and Children (WIC) nutrition program and sanitary inspections.
The staff includes a medical director, nurse practitioner, nurses, and clerical staff capable of delivering care, answering patient questions, and maintaining office service. In the event of an emergency, patients are referred to Paris Regional Medical Center emergency room.
APPOINTMENTS
Appointments are scheduled after patients have completed Medical History forms and the Health Care Assistance Application. These forms are located in the Info Center under Patient Forms. Immunizations do not require appointments.
PAYMENTS
Fees are determined by the local health board. Services of the Paris-Lamar County Health District are provided regardless of ability to pay, however, payment is expected when services are rendered unless prior arrangements have been made. Programs are available for low income families for reduced fees or no fees. Applicants qualify on an individual basis for one year. Applications must be renewed annually. Applications are available at the office or on this website.

In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
