The Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic provides medical care, dental care, and prescription medications for uninsured residents of Fredericksburg, Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford. Operated by the Fredericksburg Area Regional Health Council, the Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic is an accredited member of the Virginia Association of Free Clinics.
The Moss Free Clinic provides comprehensive primary care for adults free of charge:
Primary, non-emergency, medical care for health problems such as a sore throat or a sinus infection
On-going care for chronic illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma
Specialty medical care
- Gynecology Clinic providing annual pap tests, breast exams, and mammograms
- Surgery Clinic
- Cardiology Clinic
- Referral to off-site medical specialists when appropriate

Counseling
Depression management and diabetic control assessment
Referrals
Dental care
Fillings, Extractions, and Dental Hygiene only
Prescription medications (no narcotics or controlled substances)
On-site licensed pharmacy

Basic diagnostic testing, including radiology and laboratory services, in cooperation with Mary Washington Healthcare and Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center
You may receive care at the Moss Free Clinic if you:
Live in the City of Fredericksburg or in one of these counties: Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania or Stafford
Do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare
Do not have other health benefits or insurance
Have a household income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
