WV Health Right cares for adult patients who have no health insurance or patients who have Medicaid/Medicare.
The clinic has a long-standing commitment to serve the working poor of the communities.
They use the skills of physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other medical professionals who volunteer their time and talents.
Patients must qualify for services and are seen free of charge.
WV Health Right offers comprehensive primary and specialty care to its 18,000+ uninsured and medically underserved patients.
Patients with diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular, and other chronic diseases have regularly scheduled access to medical supervision and medications while patients with acute illness receive care on a non-emergency basis both on-site and at volunteer specialists offices.
Women's health issues are paramount at WV Health Right.
Mammograms and pap smears are mandatory procedures that must be performed on an annual basis for all female patients 40 years of age and over.
WV Health Right operates the largest and only full time free adult dental clinic in the state and also offers ophthalmology services to test for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and eye disease.
The clinic provides a range of health education programs aimed at improving the health status of patients.
The clinic has a licensed therapist on staff as well. New behavioral health services include medication treatment. The clinic's therapist regularly meets with patients who need support in the areas of depression, anxiety, grieving, and addictions.
WV Health Right also provides access to free medications for its uninsured patients through its in-house pharmacy, with over 250 prescriptions filled every day.
Eligibility:
WV Health Right serves low-income individuals who are uninsured, underinsured, and medically underserved.
All patients must provide proof of household income on an annual basis and fall within the Federal Poverty Level guidelines to receive services at the clinic.
Adult Dental Services:
The primary goal of WV Health Right's dental clinic is the elimination of pain and infection.
Patients suffering from dental pain and infection can receive antibiotics on a walk-in basis Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Once a patient has been seen for x-rays and an exam by a dentist has been performed, an appointment will be scheduled for you to start necessary dental treatment. It is usually your third visit before treatment begins.
WV Health Right has over 100 dedicated dentists, oral surgeons, hygienists, and assistants who volunteer their time to the dental clinic.
Dental services may include:
- Medications for Infections and Pain
- Screening Exams and X-Rays
- Extractions and Fillings
- Cleanings
WV Health Right's dental clinic does not offer cosmetic dentistry.

These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
